Content Management System UpdatesAs an existing user of the BizCom Content Management System (BCMS), you already know how powerful and user-friendly it is for technical and non-technical users alike.

As we continue to add and enhance features within the BCMS, we will provide notices that post on the left side of your initial control panel login screen. All notices link back to this webpage which describes any additions and/or enhancements we've made to the system. Some updates may only apply to specific BCMS packages.

October 18th, 2011 (CMS V4.3.0)

  • Events Calendar - the newly re-tooled Events Calendar editor now opens in a new window. This change was made to accomodate Internet Explorer 9.0. 
  • META Tag Gennerator - we removed character count limits in the keyword and description META Tag tool so users can have total control over their META Tags. 
  • Content Rotator - we fixed the sorting issue in the Content Rotator. 
  • Widget Zone - we added the ability to delete a widget zone.

  • Help Files - we did a complete re-write of the Content Management System Help files. We've included all newly released features and updated screenshots for existing features.

  • Shopping Cart - we improved error handling capabilities within the shopping cart forms and credit card processing functions.

 


 

April 28, 2011

  • Code Base - we've re-written major sections of the Content Management System code base to improve overall system performance, security and continuing compliance with PCI requirements.

  • Content Editor - we replaced the content editing tool with a newer version that contains additional user-friendly features including a) paste as Text, b) paste HTML from Microsoft Word and c) a Full Screen view option.

  • Logout Button - we've updated the Control Panel Logout button to ensure user sessions properly expire when logged out. Change to this feature was added to sync with newer browser rollouts.

  • Users - the updated Users section includes a number of improvements including an Undelete User function which is available to website administrators. This does not affect the website Audit Trail as it will contain the entire history of every person who has edited the website even if the User has been removed or deleted from the system.

  • Event Registration - this module has been updated to use the full Content Editor, in place of the previous limited functionality.

  • Payment Gateway - we added a new Payment Gateway tool, which gives Administrators the ability to easily configure any payment gateway.

  • Payment System - we've made our payment system more flexible by providing website Administrators with the ability to create a payment acceptance form using the Form Builder module.

  • META Tag editor - we've increased the character limit to 500 characters.

    • we've added the ability for you to drag and drop content to other content sections within a web page.

    • HTML source button is now available when editing HTML content.* 

  • Login - administrators can now reset & resend others users' passwords.

  • Users - user profile and "change password" screens are now combined/simplified

    • users can now syndicate news feeds.

    • now integrates with Twitter.

    • we've added a 3D disk space and bandwidth monitoring usage pie chart to make it easier to manage your website hosting service resources.

    • create custom folders to manage website file attachments and images.

    • preview image files with the new thumbnail image generator.

    • rename file names without breaking existing webpages.

  • Form Builder - we've added a form field display sample so you can see what the form fields looks like prior to selecting it.

  • Audit Trail - we've added a audit trail which tracks any and all changes made within a website. The information collected includes the user who edited the information and the date and time the website information was edited.

  • Webpage Deletion Notification - this new features sends an email to all Content Management System Administrators when a webpage is deleted.

  • Webpage Rollback - if you make a mistake on a webpage you can now roll back to a previous version of the page.
